Fused Piecing:
A Unique Quiltmaking Technique

July 9-11, 2008

Textile artist Carol Freeman offers step-by step-instruction for creating pieced quilt blocks using an innovative method that requires no sewing. Increase your design possibilities with the freedom to experiment. At the end of the three-day class, you will have completed the top of your own small quilt. Carol will give you instructions and examples so that you can finish it, at your leisure, with machine quilting.

The class will meet on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Morning sessions will be from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Afternoon sessions will be from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

About the Workshop Leader

Carol Freeman has recently established a home and studio in Clarksburg, West Virginia.

In addition to designing and constructing hand-dyed garments for Shibori West, she focuses on combining color and pattern in the creation of art quilts. One of her creations won Best Original Design in the 2001 Vandalia Gathering Quilt and Wall Hanging competition sponsored by the WV Division of Culture and History.

Carol also enjoys collaborating with nature in the garden, and she loves to dance.
