We recognize that every group is unique, and that's what makes Water Gap Retreat stand out: we are able, ready, and willing to help you plan an itinerary to make the best use of your group's time here.
If you want us to provide some or all of your meals, including bagged lunches, we do great meals that feature locally-grown organic produce from Rolling Thunder Farm and breads, granola, and desserts from La Fontaine Bakery.
If your group is interested in evening entertainment, a guided outing, or a workshop, we can make the arrangements. Call or e-mail us to discuss options and prices.
Water Gap Retreat, located on the Shavers Fork of the Cheat River, is in the heart of the Potomac Highlands of WV and affords easy access to swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, tubing, caving, hiking, biking, climbing, and both cross-country and downhill skiing. We are on the edge of the 919,000-acre Monongahela National Forest, a great place for birding, hunting for mushrooms and wild edibles, and viewing wildflowers.
From Water Gap Retreat, it's an easy drive to Otter Creek Wilderness, Seneca Rocks, Nelson Rocks, Spruce Knob, Canaan Valley, Blackwater Falls, Dolly Sods, Rich Mountain Battlefield, Cranberry Glades, Cass Scenic Railroad and other scenic railroads.
We're close to historic Beverly, and just a few miles from Elkins, which was chosen as one of the best small art towns in the U.S. and where you'll find Artists at Work Gallery and the Augusta Heritage Center.
